Overview
Set amongst giant willow trees, where peacocks roam the river banks on lush, grassy slopes – a jewel unfolds to reveal River Deck Country Estate. From the main road, the winding entrance leads guests to a 240hour secure parking area. A pleasant stroll (wheelchair friendly) steers you across a wooden footbridge to the tranquil – yet trendy – venue that offers more than just the average. Patrons are truly spoilt for choice. River Deck is a sensory pleasure – it is a multipurpose country estate, where people can come and relax with friends, family and colleagues, whether it is for that special wedding or conference or just an intimate dinner or relaxed lunch.
The venue recently underwent a facelift and now boasts 6 different venue settings.
The Wilge Room (the largest facility) can comfortably host up to 250 guests (with a dance floor) and 300 guests without a dance floor). This room is ideal for larger weddings. Generous French doors lead directly onto the deck area, overlooking the gardens and river; and during the winter, an enormous fireplace provides heat. The venue includes a private bar & kitchen. The Hornbill and Zebra Room provide a more intimate indoors atmosphere, catering for up to 80 people. The Hornbill includes a private deck area, while the Zebra is includes a lovely lounge area and private bathrooms. The Boma is ideal for more modest functions or as a makeshift chapel. A large, thatched area with a wonderful view overlooking the river, water features and gardens.
The Deck gazes onto gentle waters and gardens. When a bigger function is not taking place in the Wilge, the Deck is the ideal function for small, informal gatherings. For night time functions, an outdoor fireplace is lit – you will be hard pressed not to imaging being at a luxury lodge in the bush. The beautiful authentic restaurant can also cater for private function sin its upstairs level. Catering up to 60 guests, the private room carries with it all the charm of a bygone era, although every effort has been taken to ensure every modern comfort. The room includes a private bar, private bathrooms and a closed & open patio.
