Comment on The Big Dont’s When Organising A Charity Event by sergio rodriquez /related/event-articles/miscellaneous/the-big-donts-when-organising-a-charity-event/#comment-28 sergio rodriquez Thu, 17 Feb 2011 00:38:29 +0000 /related/?p=164#comment-28 First of all, great coverage! Weather one runs her own corporate event, or for clients, event organizing and management requires significant investment of both time and budget, therefore I would stress that ROI control is critical. At my previous company we have spent at least a quarter of our marketing budget on events. No wonder that event management industry is one of the most rapidly growing industries in all over the world. And we all are funding it. ;-). Comprehansive event automation tools a must thou - automation of event planning processes makes the whole thing much more manageable. By having combined purpose with technology we all can increase the reach and effectiveness of our next event. Great team is another key. If promotion folks are not synced with business development guys, we all, along with our ROI, are seriously screwed. lol. Btw, the article helped me to remember that I haven't yet finished designing our booth for an exhibit that we participate in a few months. Press kit and attendees invites are not ready either. What am I thinking?! lol. I better get back to it. Once again, thanks for wonderful coverage. First of all, great coverage! Comment on Outdoor Teambuilding Activities by Brad, teamwork advocate /related/event-articles/team-building/outdoor-teambuilding-activities/#comment-24 Brad, teamwork advocate Thu, 10 Feb 2011 23:49:10 +0000 /related/?p=234#comment-24 First of all, great article! It provoked a few ideas that I would like to post here. Teamwork is a dynamic process involving people with complementary backgrounds and skills, share common goals and exercise concentrated effort in assessing, planning, evaluating and executing towards the common goal. However, there are significant difficulties that are experienced while building collaborative groups among individuals. We must take into consideration cultural and personal differences, professional, social differences, education disparities and gender disparities. Unsolved communication barriers, poor commitment from all stakeholders undermine the spirit of team. We should also count in factors such as differences in political views. Organizations often fail to design practical policies to govern team building, so all efforts become obsolete sooner that they can settle to become useful for any institution.
